I want to thank each of the voters, volunteers, and others who helped our campaign to tonight’s first-place finish in a lively eight-candidate primary. No one can do this alone. I am very grateful for this vote of confidence, going into the November election for three at-large seats.
I have never taken our community’s trust for granted, and will continue full-speed with the work of reaching out, talking with voters, and finding ways to help make our city better.
Our campaign will host a fundraiser September 29, at Around the Corner, and I look forward to seeing old and new friends. Let’s celebrate our strong primary result, and prepare for a spirited general election campaign!
I also want to congratulate the other candidates who made the cut for the November ballot, and thank everyone who got involved. Healthy democracy relies on people pulling petitions, canvassing for signatures, and running for office.
Lakewood has not had this kind of crowded field of candidates for quite a few years, and the readiness to step up as well as the positive direction of the campaigning speaks very well of our community. It is genuinely an honor to exit this primary ranked first.
